Ring Leader Mike Havelock (Lead Guitar)
Mike started young, honing his skills playing in various uni bands. A well respected guitarist, Mike has, in recent years, performed with a number of top local bands, performing both electric and acoustic sets. Now he has turned his skills to help The Leaders produce their unique sound.
Born Leader Simon Gold (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar)
Simon started his singing career in 1991 with his debut album “The Road Home”. A tour of the UK followed where he generated a large fan base. Soon he teamed up with his good friend the fabulous “’Woody The String Man”. The two formed a very popular duo playing a mix of country, pop and rock music at some of Yorkshire’s biggest venues, with audiences of up to 15,000 people.
Simon’s next move was to Europe where he spent some time playing clubs and bars in the Netherlands and Germany. On his return to the UK he formed a 5 piece country/hillbilly show band which took the country music scene by storm!
After his success in Yorkshire Simon moved to Cheshire where his success has continued, singing with a number of well known top local rock bands at many of the areas premier venues and some large festivals.
Now Simon has brought his singing talents to The Leaders, doing something a ‘little bit different’ and thoroughly loving it.
Lost Leader Steve Cooper (Drums & Backing Vocals)
Mr Cool. Steve started his drumming career, as many do, playing along with a group of mates. It wasn’t long before he was performing with some of the top bands in the area. After great local success Steve went on to play in Europe including a number of tours in Spain. Steve now provides the solid foundation that The Leader’s sound is built on…. and is enjoying every minute.
Reluctant Leader Steve Brown (Keys & Backing Vocals)
Steve played in his first band as a teenager learning his trade on the local music scene and later at some of the premier venues in the North West.
For many years Steve ran his own very successful band, working with a number of nationally and internationally known performers. He also worked as musical director for several major theatre shows.
Happy playing most genres of music, Steve went on to put his skills to good use with many of the top bands in his area. Now his talent is being put to work with The Leaders, adding that ‘little something extra’.
Cheer Leader Bob Kirby (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals)
Bob has been playing bass longer than he cares to remember. The early days saw him playing with pro bands at top music venues across the Northwest and later backing many major named artists at some of the best known venues in the UK. Soul, rock, blues, Bob is happy playing most genres, now he’s helping to provide the heartbeat in The Leaders rhythm section….. and it’s fun.
